Terms of Service

Last updated 4 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and HuddleHoop ("HuddleHoop", "we", "us") for use of the HuddleHoop app and website. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use HuddleHoop.

Read this part if you read nothing else. HuddleHoop is a place to find games. We are not the organiser of your game, we do not own or inspect the courts, and we do not supervise play. Basketball carries a real risk of injury. You play at your own risk. See our Liability Waiver.

1. Who can use HuddleHoop

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You must give accurate information when you sign up, including your real date of birth, and keep it up to date. One account per person. Do not let anyone else use your account, and keep your password to yourself.

2. What HuddleHoop actually is

HuddleHoop is a marketplace and coordination tool. We help players find each other, reserve a spot in a game, and know whether that game is going ahead. We are not a party to the arrangement between you and a host, a facility or another player.

Game listings are created by users and facilities, not by us. We do not verify that a listed court is available, safe, suitable, or that it exists. We do not vet the identity, skill, fitness or character of other players beyond the limited checks described in the app.

3. Joining a game

  • Reserving a spot is a commitment to the host and to the other players. Capacity is limited and your spot is one somebody else cannot take.
  • A game reaches Game On when enough players have committed. Until then, it may not happen at all.
  • If a game is full you may take a waitlist place and will be promoted automatically if someone drops.
  • If you cannot make it, cancel in the app as early as you can so your spot can go to someone else.

4. Hosting a game

If you host, you take on real responsibility to the people who sign up:

  • Only list a court you are actually entitled to use, and make sure it is booked or genuinely open for the time you advertise.
  • Describe the game honestly — format, skill level, location, time and any cost.
  • If you have to cancel, do it in the app and as far in advance as possible. Everyone who signed up is told.
  • Turn up, or hand hosting to someone who will.

5. Conduct

Do not use HuddleHoop to:

  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger anyone.
  • Impersonate another person, or create an account under a false identity.
  • List games you do not intend to run, repeatedly no-show, or otherwise waste other players' time.
  • Advertise unrelated goods or services, or spam other users.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or other users' data.
  • Break any law, or any rule of the facility you are playing at.

We can suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules, or that we reasonably believe puts other players at risk — in serious cases without warning.

6. Reliability and attendance

HuddleHoop records whether people show up. Repeated no-shows and late cancellations affect how other players see you and may limit your ability to join or host games. This is deliberate: games only work when commitments mean something.

7. Money

HuddleHoop does not currently process payments. Any cost listed for a game is settled directly between you, the host and the facility. We are not responsible for those arrangements, for refunds, or for disputes about them. If and when in-app payments launch, we will publish terms for them before you can use them.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post — your display name, photo, game titles and descriptions. You give us a licence to host and display that content so the service can function. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

9. Availability

HuddleHoop is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular game will fill or go ahead. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may stop operating in a market.

10. Assumption of risk and limitation of liability

You acknowledge that basketball is a physical contact sport with an inherent risk of injury, including serious injury, and that you accept that risk voluntarily. Our Liability Waiver forms part of these terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HuddleHoop is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation in any game, the condition or availability of any court, or the conduct of any other user, host or facility. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those parts do not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify HuddleHoop against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your conduct at a game.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — liability, indemnity, and governing law — do.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use HuddleHoop after that means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.
